Online Consultant Psychologist
Background
MyPsych.com is a new concept in psychological services. We provide an online portal for psychologists to engage in online psychological therapy globally. Our aim is to provide the best quality psychological therapy to our online clients. In support of this, all of our therapists have a minimum qualification of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved six year psychology degree. Our therapists can choose to use MyPsych.com as much or as little as they wish as long as they meet the minimum requirement of two sessions per month. You can run your entire practice through MyPsych.com or use MyPsych.com to conveniently supplement your existing face-to-face practice. Working with MyPsych.com is as flexible as you require.

In addition to providing our therapists with an online tool to counsel clients, we also provide:

  • Training on the use of the site
  • Ongoing access to treatment protocols and tools
  • Ongoing access to Psychology Onsite Pty Ltd’s subscription to online professional journals
  • Ongoing access to a broad client base including geographically remote or isolated clients
  • Online practice management support eg payment processing and appointment scheduling,Client database
  • A flexible tool for providing therapy to clients

Purpose of role
As an Online Consultant Psychologist you will provide online psychological services to clients using the MyPsych.com facility, and maintain appropriate client records.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide high quality online psychological services to suitable clients
  • Conduct assessment of online screeners to ascertain the suitability of new clients for online psychological services
  • Develop knowledge of psychological theory and practice using the a/ synchronous communications channels as effective psychological service provision mediums
  • Maintain accurate, secure and confidential client records
  • Follow procedures and instructions as reasonably directed by Psychology Onsite Pty Ltd
  • Provide reasonable feedback to Psychology Onsite Pty Ltd regarding the MyPsych platform
  • Other duties as reasonably expected for your experience, skills and qualifications

Key skills, knowledge and experience
To be considered for a position as an Online Consultant Psychologist you must have:

  • Post-graduate qualifications in psychology (APAC approved 6 year psychology degree or international equivalent)
  • Full registration with the relevant psychologist registration board in your jurisdiction
  • Current professional indemnity insurance
  • Previous experience in providing psychological treatment to clients
  • Proven expertise and experience in using therapeutic models such as cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy
  • Demonstrated high level of commitment to the use of a/ synchronous online communication and an open mind to new technology
  • Ability to be flexible and resilient and to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated skills in effective interpersonal communication especially written communication skills
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback regarding psychological/therapeutic technique and use in clinical supervision
